6 Things to Avoid Before a Photoshoot
1. Skip heavy drinking the day before drink water instead
Alcohol can dehydrate you and make your skin look dull or puffy—water is your best friend before a shoot.
2. Time your spray tan wisely
A fresh spray tan can sometimes look too dark, uneven, or transfer onto clothing. Get it at least 2–3 days before the shoot so it settles into a natural tone.
3. Don’t wear tight clothing beforehand
Tight bras, waistbands, socks, or straps can leave marks and lines on your skin that are tricky to retouch.
4. Avoid overly busy patterns
Tiny stripes, dots, or complex prints can distort on camera and pull attention away from you.
5. Skip large logos or distracting text
They can date your photos and make them look less timeless.
6. Don’t ignore outfit preparation
Test outfits in advance to ensure they fit well and move comfortably. Steam or iron beforehand—wrinkles can be distracting in photos and aren’t always easy to edit out.
7.Get your vitamine ZZZ
Do your best to relax and have a good night of sleep
